One Night Stand

Love making

When the friendly eye unleashes a bomb
You don’t think through the aftermath
You think only of scintillation
The rubbing of two life twigs
To make enough fire to burn through the night

And when morning rocks you
You think of all the necessary excuses and you come up with none
Just that the bomb that exploded your senses
Sits steering your wheel and you think
Of that possibility – to what trickles over
From the following morning – the aftermath.

Strangers seem so cruel and fateful
After all twig chemistry should mean to something
Like the fire that could burn the cold log
Could also maybe light something inside
The palpitating chamber

There are miracles that usher in promises
Like when two hearts make matter turn to medium
In the narrowest of span
From dusk till dawn.
