It is just that the scrap of waffle
I put inside the mouth cavity
Or the piece of dark chocolate
I chew between my gums
Reminds me how transient sweetness is
Just like an airport rendez-vous
– Where kinship breeds on shoulders
Love crashes as tokens on lips
And generosity is bridged in wrist –
Gone horribly wrong.

And in this detonation of hate-nukes
Which come crashing down in one heartbeat
There is the anarchy of terror
After all inside Daedalus’s workshop
– Surrounded by strips and runaways –
There are too many ‘terminal’ signs
And one too many terminators
Playing with fire – just like a winged Icarus
Where in the aftermath
A sea of blood – the size of the Aegean – can be seen
Salting countless Bruegel eyes
With scarlet brushstrokes
Eternalized on canvas.
