Everything Changes But Love

We no longer hold hands

We just carry a mobile phone

We no longer paste stamps

We don’t send postcards

We no longer go to the cinema

We just paste our bums on a couch

We no longer go to church

We just belong to independent thought

We no longer stay up just to talk

We just surf the web in the ungodly hours

We no longer make memories

We still make love to bodies

We no longer share a book

We still share a common bed

We make plans and more plans

We don’t just stop or pause

We travel all over the world

We are still strangers to our homes

We love one creature like there’s no tomorrow

And we still love in the shadow of a billion yesterdays
